Fatty Liver

Fatty liver disease, also known as hepatic steatosis, is a condition where excess fat builds up in the liver. This can lead to liver inflammation and, over time, serious complications such as liver fibrosis, cirrhosis, and even liver failure. Fatty liver is often associated with obesity, type 2 diabetes, high cholesterol, and excessive alcohol consumption, although it can also occur in individuals without these risk factors.

In its early stages, fatty liver disease may not cause any noticeable symptoms, making it difficult to detect. However, as the condition progresses, individuals may experience fatigue, abdominal discomfort, and a feeling of fullness in the upper right side of the abdomen. Effective management of fatty liver disease involves lifestyle changes such as weight loss, a healthy diet, regular exercise, and controlling underlying conditions like diabetes and high cholesterol.

At Epic Medical Research, we are committed to advancing the understanding and treatment of fatty liver disease through clinical trials.
